Local Shopping

Despite its rural and secluded setting, Kirkwood is within easy distance of good shopping and services.

Four miles away is Lockerbie, the local town, and is most suitable for day to day shopping.  It has a supermarket, newsagents, gift shops, an antiques shop, off licence, butcher, chemist and doctor's surgery. 

Annan, five miles away, is slightly larger than Lockerbie, but offers similar services.

Dumfries, twelve miles away, is larger again with a good selection of shops including Marks and Spencer, Boots, Woolworth’s and Barbour’s Department Store.  There are fishing tackle shops and a public swimming pool.

Carlisle, twenty miles away, is a bigger shopping centre with large supermarkets and arcades, including The Lanes Shopping Centre.

Why not visit the designer outlet village at Gretna to give your wallet a pounding? It's only fifteen miles away and has many great shops including Ralph Lauren, LK Bennett, Reebok and Episode.
