3 Day School only £690
We have had three successful Mushroom Schools at Kirkwood and will do more if we get enough interest so register your interest by emailing Mushroom School.
Enthusiasts of all levels of experience and ages are welcome to join this most interesting and enjoyable event. Kirkwood’s 500 acres of pastures and woodland are the perfect breeding ground for a wide variety of fungi and our forays and talks are led by two of the country’s leading experts.
Graeme Walker is a professional mycologist who works for Scottish Natural Heritage.
Mark Gorman is a local fungi enthusiast, as is Anthony Steel, who owns and manages Kirkwood.
You will stay in one of our self-catering cottages, although meals are provided (light breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners). The all-inclusive package of £690 per person also comprises all talks, tuition, demonstrations, guidance and forays. Places are strictly limited and must be booked in advance.
Things to bring…
Edibility and Health Warning – We will tell you which fungi we eat and which ones we do not eat, but we are NOT advising you to eat any. Different people can react in different ways to fungi and some people can have allergies even they did not know about. Therefore you eat any fungi at your own risk.
