At the end of the season we are hosting a Gathering for Ghillies, Fishing Instructors and Guides to come to the South of Scotland for 5 days on the River Annan.
You will be fishing for salmon at a prime time of the year (the “back-end” on the Annan is renowned). You will be with fellow experts, developing your skills, practicing your arts and having some short, optional, demos and educational talks in the evenings as well as a “conference” during your stay. The close of our season has just been extended on the Annan from 15th November to end of November. It is catch and release though and mainly fly fishing. You will be fishing on two top class beats, Kirkwood and Jardine Hall, both on the Annan.
Based at Kirkwood, your accommodation will be in one of our holiday cottages situated in the Stables Courtyard. You will have your own bedroom but will share a cottage with a fellow “Ghillie”. All meals, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal (lots of Real Farm Meat!) are included in the price, as is the fishing, accommodation, skill development and conferences.
Friends/Colleagues prepared to share a twin room can ask for a discount.

As this is an advanced training event, it should be deductible against income on the personal tax returns of ghillies/guides and it should be a tax deductible expense for employers of ghillies who wish to see their employees develop their skills further. Ask your accountant.
Sadly, we must remind you that weather is a major factor in fishing and if faced with poor weather conditions we may have to change how we fish or the location. In very high water spinning is possible and permitted. It is unlikely that we would not be able to fish at all, but it is possible. If so, we would have extra talks etc. Once booked and paid for no refunds are given under any circumstances and we recommend that you purchase a suitable holiday insurance policy to cover you for any unseen eventualities.
