Local Fisheries

Broom Fisheries, Broom Farm, Newbie, Annan
This complex comprises four fly only trout waters stocked with top quality rainbows, browns, golden, blues and tigers. There is also a tackle shop, tuition, rod hire and refreshments. Coarse fishing is also available.

Hammerlands Centre, Moffat
Fly fishing, bait fishing and coarse fishing available on three ponds. The fly pond is stocked with rainbows, browns, goldens and blues. There is a tackle shop and restaurant onsite.

Castle Loch, Lochmaben
Only four miles from Kirkwood, this is a large loch of some 194 acres with historic connections. There are big pike (over 20lb) and big bream (over 8lb), as well as roach and perch.

Purdomstone Reservoir, Ecclefechan
This is a reserve reservoir for the town of Annan set in the hills above Ecclefechan. The trout are all wild and are mainly small. Two bank rods are available via Dickie Graham on 01576 300417 or 07711 681507 at £8 per rod
